A Minimalist Dream Come True

  

Who am I?

 

A seeker of truth and wisdom. A believer of magic in the everyday. Living for the moments in between and listening for the whispers on the wind. 

 

Everyday Pieces was very much born out of a remembering, a reconnecting with my inner child.

My name is Bethany, and I am a child of the ‘80s. I remember recording mix tapes from pop songs on the radio onto. And then replaying them until I had all of the lyrics memorised. I remember long summer days, filled with swing sets, pool parties and fireflies. 

 

In reconnecting to what brought me joy as a child, I have been finding ways to carry that into life as an adult. The question that came is; How I can use the skills I already have to create something beautiful, long-lasting and meaningful.

 

For years I worked in the fashion industry, where my awareness of the injustices grew with each new position. 

 

Moving to Finland in 2017, with the idea of starting over, allowed the time and space needed for truly gain some perspective. It was an incredible gift. To slow down and get quite. 

Not long ago, I realised, that all the tools needed I already possess. And what I have always wanted to do it still alive and well within me. 

To create for real women, clothing for life. For movement. For all the the natural and beautiful changes that inevitably come with time.

And to share my thoughts on how to be more conscious of the choices we make and the ways in which they create a ripple effect.

The courage to create something has been slowly growing below the surface and the time for it to take root and emerge is absolutely now.

  

 

What is Everyday Pieces?

 

A capsule collection, consciously created, piece by made-to-order piece. 

Clothing inspired by a remembering, a striving for connection and driven by the ultimate pursuit of balance and continuity.

Everyday Pieces is a celebration of life.  Of nature and the gifts she offers. Of the beautiful body you have, and all that it allows you to do. And of your Inner Child. The core of your being, your truest self.

Why do I do it?

 

My passion is to expand awareness around the choices we make, and the power we hold.  The need to be more careful when it comes to acquiring more. And seriously consider what we bring into our lives. 

 

I understand the hope people have in recycling, reusing and second hand shopping. Not all done with the best of intentions, and then there are those that are. 

However, the earth yearns to grow crops and be tended to. Communities have built their lives around harvesting, weaving and processing fibers for generations. I intend to support these cultures, and believe in the benefit to us all then we chose the path of least impact with the most nurture. 

 

I hope to support the long standing traditions of workmanship, integrity and quality in the pieces I make. 

Clothing to protect you, keep you warm and hopefully also make you feel hugged by nature and more like yourself.
